Grinder height
I just came from working on a couple knives on my Wilton grinder, and I've got to go back, so I'll make this quick. My grinder is set on a table that's about waist height, putting the grinding attachment just a little above my waist. This means I end up working with my head bent over, which is rather uncomfortable. What heights does everyone set their grinders at? I know that anvil and work bench height should be set to individual preferences, and I wondered if anyone did this with their grinder. Josh Blount |

There was a big discussion on this quite a while back. If I remember correctly, most people had the grinder set at a height that the blade being ground was at their belly button level. |

It all depends on you're height, I like mine higher than belly button heightI am 5'11" ,the axle on my contact wheel is 47 1/2" up from the deck, also with my arms bent 90 deg., I am grinding at stomach/sternum level, a lot easier on the neck.Hope this helps. |

I too had mine about belly button high but, taking the advice of Mike H. I brought mine up higher and found that I had better control. Everyone is not the same but his advice did help me tremendously!!! Thanks again Mike H. Mike K. |

I like mine so that I can work with my arms bent 90 degrees or slightly less. That's about the top of my stomach. Brett |
