Latest knives

These were the last two i had handled before i decided to get over my fear of screwing up a blade with the etch o matic.

The small whittler:
blade 1075/1080
oal 6"
blade length 2"
Buckeye burl stabilized with ZK-TR 90 resin
home made 9/32" mosaic pins

The small Chefs Knife
B-day gift for mom. had it handled before getting the good advice of bringing grind line to spine of the blade and rounding the bottom by the plunge cut. but im sure she will still like it.
blade 1075/1080
oal 8"
blade length 4 1/2"
Amazon rosewood stabilized with ZK-TR 90 resin
home made 9/32" mosaic pins
I know most stabilizing resins have a hard time with rosewood, this one was no exception. It didn't absorb as much as most of the other woods but she had her heart set on this particular piece of wood so it was attempt to stabilize or use it anyway.

So, where's the etch?

They look pretty good. I'm sure you're mom will love the knife and use it often. Your knife is much nicer than the one my dad made from a crudely ground file and a piece of pipe brazed on for a handle. As crude as it was, my mom used it every day for 30 years and I imagine yours will too ...

These were the last 2 that wont be marked with the etch o matic. I want my mark behind the plunge cut and these 2 already had the handles glued on
