Redneck pin machine.

Only a select group might appreciate something like this. If it works is it really stupid?

Stupid? Not at all. This is a common way to make pin stock. Not sure how common the muffler attachment is, though. I like it.

EDIT: Shear plates are a common way. I had to download your picture and turn it right side up to see that they were using wire nippers and not a shear plate. That should work.

I like the idea! On pinch cuts that crushed end has to be ground off right? I cut on the little diamond bandsaw so there is a small burr that has to be taken care of. Either way I'm on the disc sander to true them up.

I have a pair of these that I use for pin cuts. Absolutely square cuts. Been using them for years.
Rio Grande jewelry supply is #111032 Xeron 2193 memory wire cutter. May help y'all... I know it saves me time and swearing!
