Butts
I am making a solid brass butt. I want the tang end to be threaded. Is it better to tap the butt or to solder a nut on the butt?

If you have room, tap the butt. It is always better to keep things orig. But if you need to a brazed nut will work.

I too go with the tapped buttcap.

I tapped the one I did and it worked out great.

thanks guys, tapping is lighter and brazing the nut gives me a week point. At least that was what I was thinking. I see both ways done so was not sure.
