Spalted W2?

Not really. But you know me.
The idea we had was to make my customer a personal carry "Bowie" that he could carry in his home state and be legal at under 5 1/2".
He liked the Spalted Maple and then I talked him into some W2 with this result in mind.
I wanted the black lines induced around the hamon to "dance" with the spalting in the maple.
I even got some nice hamon display on the spine.
416 Stainless take-down assembly.
Perfect balance on this knife and should offer him many years of service.
Hope you guys enjoy!

Thumbs up Sweet!

Hi Karl,

What a beautiful combo! If you don't mind me asking (since I love fiddlin' with W-2 and hamons) what do you use for your clay and how do you apply it?

Satanite and with a solder brush.

Thanks Karl!

I use satanite too but never tried the solder brush trick. I've always used a popcicle stick and it's
difficult to apply it thinly. Mine always goes on rather thick and clunky.

Thanks, again, for the tip, Karl!

Karl, This little bowie is sweet. I use a lot of spalted maple. This looks like you had a lot of fun building.

BTW
It was nice visiting with you at Blade.

Thanks for sharing
