Scott
very nice work your photos have a nice flair to them also. Is this some of the steel your were talking about making yourself. I like the skinning knife with the copper bolster, did you make the copper to fit more like a (Habaki) on a japanese sword. Great work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Thanks guys...
Yeah...that is a cold forged habaki fitted to the blade. Which was harder than I thought it would be. And... no.. not home smelted steel yet. Although I have a bloom I'm starting to forge down. Those first two are san mai blades made with some extremely gnarly slaggy wrought I drug out of the woods. And there is a nickel foil layer in between. I have been bitten... __________________ http://www.bigrockforge.com |

I love that you leave the finish raw/unpolished. It adds so much character to the blade.

Extremely handsome blades, all around. The dagger #1, the Hawk and the Guarded Bowie are my faves, but all beautiful.
You ain't been bit, you've been chewed. Excellent work. |
