1911 Holster - 1pc CF Design w/Tek-Lok

This is a 1 piece fold-over design custom holster for a 1911. It has a removable Tek-Lok and is using 1/2" TMLAB standoff mounts with spacers and black finishing washers.

This one was designed and made by Robbie Feltman using HOLSTEX? carbon fiber pattern sheet material from KnifeKits.com

Wow! Very nice job, Alex.

That material must be much more easily formed than Kydex.???

Hi Don,

The molding temp on HOLSTEX? is slightly higher, and the forming definition is much improved because of this. You can see it in the images that I've posted of the samples. These were done with press form fabrication. If you didn't know this, you might think they were vacuum formed, because of their greater object definition.

One of the things that most people don't think about when they think of Kydex or Boltaron, PVC, ABS or other thermoform vinyl-type derivatives, is that these materials were never designed for sheath and holster fabrication. What people use today when making these products is the same sheet formulas that those company's offer to other industrial manufacturers for toilet seats, airplane interiors and other usages.

HOLSTEX? was designed for the holster and sheath fabricator...exclusively. It is the first material in the world that was designed from the ground-up to fulfill this need!

Alex

Guess I'll have to order some. It sure molds well. I've always used a heat gun (For hair) and my kydex press. Will the heat gun generate enough heat?
