2013 Southern Alberta Hammer-In

Sorry you missed the 2013 Southern Alberta Hammer-In this past weekend, Ed. It was a great time and we were all thinking of you and cossing out fingers that all was going well for you.

Thought you might like to see a few pics...

Here's some of the gang that showed up this year.

Mastersmiths J Neilson, Bruce Bump and Steve Culver fuel up with caffiene at the start of the event Friday morning.

Jim watches in awe as Susan Neal sings the national anthem for both Canada and America at the start of the hammer-In. Awesome!

Bruce demonstrates the art of the hollow grind on a blade of feathered damascus he made.

The end product was beautiful.

All of these blades were made by Bruce. The one he demonstrated the hollow grind on is in the middle.

Jim proves he's no sissy by going first in a rousing game of "Who can hold their nose against the speeding grinder the longest?" Alan Neal and J cheer him on.

Can't remember exactly what J was doing here. He was either explaining his cow-milking technique or doing his personal dance interpretation of "Domo Arigato, Mr, Roboto".

Here, Steve carefully scrutinizes a hawk head being forged from an old ball pein hammer head.

Then, to show he also had a fun side, he did his version of "I Got You, Babe" for J and Roger Hatt.

Geez, I hope the guys don't lynch me the next time they see me for poking some fun at them. I really had a great time and I think everyone else did, too. I have a few more pictures I could share, but I think I'll wait to see if I've teed anyone off first.

Great pictures Jim T., looks like some kind of get together. Tell Bruce B. that's a nicely done variation on the feather pattern. I like that climbing vine look.

Great job Jim C., Craig
