My first sub hilt.

I'm trying to finish up any projects that I have going on before I start on any new knives. One of those projects is cleaning and organizing garage....one of these days. Anyways this blade has been heat treated for almost a year. The original plan was to make it a sub hilt but many different ideas went thru my mind as I was looking at the heat treated blank. I finally committed to sticking with the original sub hilt plan. The blade is O-1 with ebony scales, stainless gaurds and pins with 1 mosaic pin. The blade is 4.65" long and 9.0" oal. I still have some final finishing to do and put my mark on it so I will add some better pics when I totally finish it. Let me know what you guys think.

My wife was asking if I was going to sell it. I may be keeping this one. I think I have a problem. I don't like parting with my knives. Lol

Well done, looks sweet. Get used to selling them, or you end up with a large collection of your own knives. Besides it makes it really easy justifying spending on knife stuff if you can say you paid for it all with knife money.

To be honest the blade looks too narrow to me in proportion to the handle. That's just my personal impression though. Other than that though it is beautiful work. I like the dagger style blade on the subhilt handle.

Ya selling a couple knives a few weeks ago was nice. I Definitely need to start selling off some of my own collection. LOL I have a paypal account but I never looked into how people can put money on it....it always seems to make money disappear. lol

I was actually thinking the same when I was making it. It is one of the reasons I wasn't going to go with this style guard. Also why I didn't use a bookmatched pair of exhibition grade desert ironwood scales that I have waiting for "the right knife". I'll probably have those for a few years. lol
