Smithing weapons
Hi,
I have searched this site and others looking for a book or info on smithing weapons such as integral sockets, axes, arrow heads spears etc. I did go through Tai's tutorial on the integral bush and the spike hawk tutorial on anvil fires. Is there a book or info in one place on how weapons other than knivesw/swords are made? Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Tim __________________ "Cry havoc....let slip the dogs of war" |

The Art of Blacksmithing by Alex Bealer has a section devoted to weapons of all sorts. The one that sticks in my mind is caltrops..... they look similar to jacks that we all played with as kids. Basically they were thrown on a trail to cripple pursuing horses, much as the police do with devices today to puncture tires on the cars of fleeing felons. Pretty interesting stuff.

"The Master Bladesmith: Advanced Studies in Steel" by Jim Hrisoulas has spears and axes in it.
