Cool Happy New Year!!!

Howdy folks!

I thought I would drop by and wish ya'll a very happy, healthy 2006!

I know that some a ya are feeling a little low, and some a ya are feeling just a tad too high, but when ya think about it, it's great to be alive, no matter what your seein' in your puddin' at the moment.

Now I reckon this here forum has survived a whole lot since your fool hardy moderators started 'er up way back in April.

You folks out there have helped a whole heapin' lot to make this place almost as friendly as my cousin Betsy-Lou's diner.

That's where the Bluegrass catfish 'n chips, barbecued Duck-billed platypus cheeks, grilled Saskatchewan seal fins ? la Quebecoise, Californie Corn Pone fritters with mixed critters, and Alabamy Grizzly grits with guts are as yummy in your tummy as when made by yer mummy. Not to mention the famous desert, Kenansville Key slime pie ? la maudite.

I'm lookn' forward to seein' ya'll here next year with all yer Randalls, so we can gawk, and lots a Randall talk, which we ain't goin' to mock.

May 2006 bring ya lots a good luck!
(an' maybe make ya'll just right!)

Best

RM

Thanks Randall Man! I would also like to wish everyone the best of everything in 2006! Like you say, some good and some not so good in '05 but it's all life, as a friend of mine says. For an old clown, I learned a lot this past year about a lot of things. New friends, new grand kids, new Randalls, new pets, new hobbies and best of all, I got to keep most of the old friends, and all of the old grand kids, Randalls, pets and hobbies! It's been fun conspiring with Moosehead, Rob, Boblade and Crimsontide to commit Randall fun this past year on the internet. Thanks for your participation or collusion! Without you, we would have bored ourselves silly showing each other our same old knives every day and telling each other the same stories. I still think it's weird to have friends on the internet. In fact. I still think it's weird to have an internet!

I would also like to thank Cap Chris for all of his hunting exploits and knife building sessions. Which of those old goats was the good Captain anyway?

Pan head, you just keep on foolin those Dr's. As I get very, very deep into middle age, the more I see the importance of that very thing. I reckon that tricking doctors gets to be a hobby of sorts as we travel this road. Let's make a pact to not do this in 2006!

Thanks friends!

Seuss (Allan)

Happy New Year, All you Randallites, and, Randallman, hows about sending some of them scrumptious vittles down this way. All we got here are fish lips and rooster knees.

A Happy New Year to all. I have enjoyed all the banter and good-natured ribbing since I have been here. A special thanks goes out to the Captain for his "knife-building" threads.

I hope that 2006 is a prosperous, harmonious and positive one for everyone. And, to paraphrase Seussbrother above, NEVER , and don't let the bastards see you bleed.

As always, at this time of year, someone is bound to ask if you have made any resolutions. As if life isn't a constaint battle of self-improvement. Anyway, I will tell them that I have made one reselution, the same one that I have made for the last six years. And I have worked extremely hard on it for those six years, not to break it and to meet said resolution. Resolution #1 is: To have more sex this year than last year. It shuts the busy-bodies up every time!

Happy New Year All!

Talking Best Wishes To All!

Hi all!

Well it certainly has been quite the ride for us Internet Randallites during this past year, proving once again that one never knows what to expect, or what one is capable of.

There is no need to rehash the history of how these new Randall forums came about. The important thing is that there is finally a far out, friendly place in cyberspace, where fellow amateur RMK lovers can share their hobby.

Thank you Buddy Thomason for planting the seed...now look what you started!

A great big THANK YOU goes out to Alex Whetsell for his willingness to provide the space for us on the Knife Network.

Thanks to all of you participants and lurkers alike for demonstrating that there is a need for these Randall forums.

Thanks to all of you who have contributed to helping make these forums the success that they are.

Thanks to my fellow moderators, Allan, Rob, Ron and Wayne who despite their own busy lives and all the real life problems have worked behind the scenes and on the forums to make this effort live up to everyone's expectations.

Special thanks to Cap, aka Captain Chris Stanaback for his enthusiasm and generosity. I know Cap's contributions are greatly appreciated by all of us.

Thanks go out as well to Scott, aka dirty water; Dan, aka grindo and Jason, aka j. randall for lending their support and encouragement to these forums.

Finally, a reluctant thanks must go out to our self-proclaimed "ordinary Super Hero", Randall Man for his hokey humour and his very poor attempts to disguise his real identity. I happen to think that this so-called "mild mannered collector of RMK" is actually a vain, egotistical, self-centred, self-aggrandizing, obtuse, opinionated, unforgiving, pontificating son of a sea cook. Naturally, I won't reveal his secret...

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all !!!

May all your wishes come true!

Let's all work to make these forums even better in 2006.

Cheers!

David, aka Moosehead, the "behind the scenes trouble maker"

Happy new year to all. May your handles never crack, your blades never rust, and you minds stay as sharp as a new RMK. Regards, Doug

Doug, since you're in the hood, I have a question for ye of great ivory expertise. In a moment of insanity (common occurence), I got an ivory handled knife with carbon steel blade. The problem with this combination is one of keeping the handle humid and at the same time, keeping the blade protected and dry. Have you ever had this combination of handle material and blade steel and, how did you deal with it? It wasn't really a stupid thing to do as I love ivory and carbon steel blades. I'm just not real crazy about cracks or rust!

Thanks,

seuss

A very Happy New Year to all

I am sure mine is gonna be good

A very interesting start for me

nearly from a yet unknown disease saw me spend from 1 Jan to 6 Jan in hospital with a very bad infection way dangerously high temp and blood counts that made no sense to the specialists

but I am out now feelinh much better and looks like I have a job as security at the very same hospital better pay than prior with none of the endless stress associated with that

so all things happen for a reason

So a belated happy New Year to all from Rob in Oz
