inlay

Ok quick question on inlay's: I am trying an inlay for the first time and i get the main process with one very simple question? What do you attach it with after you cut out the shape in the wood?? Do you just epoxy it in?? For the record I am inlaying a piece of brass shaped like a fish. not very big and will go towards the end of the handle. But I am afraid if I just epoxy it in place it could end up falling out down the road or worse yet being heated to much for some reason and falling out??? Any thoughts??

Thanks

Ross
