A new "Hunter" finished
This one was a special order for an acquaintance. He saw a previous Hunter I built and ordered one for his son.
It's 1/8" 1095, Japanese Chestnut scales with black spacers and brass hardware. It has a wicked sharp edge! I made a sheath for it as well. __________________ Find me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/gpopecustomknives/ Gloria In Excelsis Deo!! |

Super clean design. Nice knife!
I really like the edge treatment on that sheath too. That rounded edge is cool! __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |

Very nice I like the profile of the blade! The choice for handle material complements it well. I have never thought about colored thread but the red really looks good with that stain. Two thumbs up!!

I want that knife to look so good you just have to pick it up, feel so good in your hand you can't wait to try it, and once you use it, you never want to put it down ! If I capture those three factors in each knife I build, I am assured the knife will become a piece that is used and treasured by its owner! C Craft |

Thanks for the comments.
I started making sheaths with sort of a "natural" looking thread that had a sinew look when finished. It was fine but I watched some videos from Jacklore knives and he routinely uses colored thread, mostly red or green and he will match the sheath thread color to the liner color on the knife. I thought the red looked cool and tried one and just adopted it. __________________ Find me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/gpopecustomknives/ Gloria In Excelsis Deo!! |
