a little question about balisong knives

I've been browsing your forum recently and i have to admit, very nice work on all the knives.

Now onto my question:
I was wondering if there are any specs for balisongs (technical drawings, blueprints, call them what you may)?

I'm a machinist by trade and furthering my knowledge of CNC machines (both manual programming and CAM), and i see it as buiding a knife from scratch would prove quite an interesting hobby, although i havent the slightest idea on the dimension of the blades and bolster.

Any info would be greatly appreciated

You might want to contact the Chinese. I understand they recently did some blueprint drawings on one of Darrel's balisongs ...

Here's a novel thought...why not purchase one of the Typhoon balisong kit knives? Not only will you then have the opportunity to inspect every square inch while all the parts are still "broken down", but you can also get a pretty darn good idea of how to make a high-end butterfly in the process!

Trust me, these kits are the best and easiest way to learn how to make a really good folder. I truly envy you,...as a machinist you are already way ahead on the learning curve (When I purchased my first kit I didn't know the front end of a hammer, least of all drills, mills, lathes, jigs, etc...oh yeh, and Dremels!).
