Distributer of tools and supplies in SoCal?

Hi,

I'm wondering if there is a place somewhat local to Orange County, CA that has the stuff necessary to make knives? I'd really like to be able to visit such a store.

Any info is really appreciated.

Morgan

Check out www.trugrit.com
I don't know if they have a store per se but it wouldn't hurt to check.

SoCal

I used to live there but was never aware of any knife supply distributors in the area. TruGrit is down there I think but they would be pretty limited. However, some of the biggest and most complete knife shows are held in your area and they are always well stocked with knifemaking goodies so keep ypur eyes open for those...

Hey blkbear,

I live in Aliso Viejo and work in Anaheim.

Have you found a shop in SoCal at all? I'm having a tough time.

My boss told me about a place... I'll be dropping by at lunch to see...

I'll report back if it's anything worth talking about.

Prost,
morgan

Re: SoCal

There are tool stores in OC, but none that are specific to knifemaking, to my knowledge, anyway. There is a neat tool store on west Katella, in Orange, Harbor Freight's main office in north of you, in Camarillo. Tru-Grit is in Ontario.
Harbor Freight is a good place to get peripheral items, like wood/metal cutting bandsaws, sandblast caninets, C clamps, etc., etc.
I will put a couple of sites here for knifemakers grinders.

Re: SoCal

Tru-Grit will have everything you need to get started. And if they don't have it they can find it for you. Just beware of Big Bird the killer attack Parakeet .

Also feel free to drop me a line or stop by my shop. The California Knifemakers Assc. will be meeting at my place in May, feel free to stop by and touch bases with most of the local makers.

I just moved my shop out of Anahiem in Sept.
