Sound problems
I got a sound problem. My sound card is a Sound Blaster Live! Value. I get a horrible screeching feedback-type sound. This happens with wave-direct sound only, CD and midi ouput is fine. Even when it works theres some sort of echo-sounding popping in the background. Both problems happens pretty much at ramdom, very frequently. I tried removing and reinstalling my card, didnt do any good. I cant detect any source of radio-EM interference. Anybody got any ideas? |

screeching
Ah, the Sound Blaster Live! Value, if I had a dime for everytime I've troubleshot this card I wouldn't have to work again. ![]() Anyway, did it alway do this or did it start recently? First, click start->programs->creative->Sound Blaster Live! Value->creative restore defaults and see if that helps. (This is for win95, 98, or me, if it's xp, let me know.) If that doesn't help, check to see if in the bottom right hand corner, near your time, that there is an icon labeled Audio HQ. If there is, right click on it and see if there is a check in front of digital outout only. If you are using analog headphone and switching between digital speakers, this can be the culprit. Let me know what happens. Jamie p.s. What kind of computer? |
