Hi Neighbor! Welcome to the KNF. You're in with a great crowd, lots of good advice and no dumb questions exist here.
That said, being a GA resident interested in knives and cutlery, I'd like to personally invite you to the next Georgia Custom Knifemakers' Guild meeting. There is more information down in the Clubs and Organizations forums here on KNF. We're all about helping get folks addicted to the art and have some very serious talent in our membership. Feel free to contact me if you need further info. Again, welcome. __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 6-H |

Forgot to mention the Flint River Knife Club, also a great group of knife enthusiest. Lot of cross over with the Georgia Guild in members (like me). They meet down on your side of Atlanta over in Conyers area usually, but several of the members live in the Newnan area as well. If you are interested I can send you contact info for them.
Knife makers are scattered all over the state and checking out these organizations can help you to connect with the ones closest to you. That can go a very long way in helping you learn the art. As I said before, let me know if I can be of any assistance. I'm up in Acworth (pretty good drive for you), but if you are ever in the area, you are always welcome to stop by and talk shop. PS - Just pack a bag and get a kayak Rob, you ought to be able to ride the great global warming tidal wave all the way here without much paddling............. I'll be right on the way to the New Aqua World Underwater Theme Park (currently known as Florida). Can hardly wait until I can fish for Bull Reds right down the street. Loose translation = Rob, You are always welcome here. __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 6-H Last edited by Crex; 04-14-2016 at 04:30 AM. |
