electro-etcher

I'm building my own electro-etcher based of the Chris Crawford's tutorial. The only thing he doesn't mention is the thickness of the stainless plate his red electrode is attached to. Any ideas?

On a side note, I know who I'm going to order stencils through but I'm not sure on the sizes I should order. I'll typically be doing knives with 4-6" blades, the smallest for now being a kephart style which has 4.5x1" blade.

On the commercial etchers the plate is very thin and heavily perforated. Basically, any thickness that you can bend into the correct shape will work but just thick enough to hold its shape is thick enough...

I think mine is 1/8 thick. It was a piece of scrap steel I had laying around. I built mine on his plans too.
