Ray, I cannot say thank you enough for all your help, You have taken the time to answer every question asked so Thank You. I did figure out why my new grinder looks so much slower and " wore out" compared to my HF (both are the same HP) my new one is 1725 rpm and the HF is like 3400 rpm...

Thanks again for all your help and input.

Ya, most A/C motors are either 1725 or 3450. For belt sanders and buffers, most guys prefer the slower motor when given a choice....

That extra wheel is so that you can use either the 1x30 or the 1x42 belts.

The wheel on the side gives you extra "throat clearance" it gets the back of the belt out of the way when grinding something like the inside of a C shaped object. As mentioned above you need a longer belt.
