Sounds like you did good. The great thing about O1 is that it will make a serviceable knife if you even get somewhere within sight of a good heat treatment....

That's good to know I have about six feet of O1 left that I am putting to the side until I get an oven. I bought twelve feet of 1084 that I will start using next. At least with 1084 I can get the most from the steel with the equipment I have right now.

Trust me I already am! I have two years worth of knives to make already! Two on the go right now and 9 more on paper.... Non of them are for me...
