Thanks for posting the in progress pics. Now I am stumped. Where do the three pieces that are in the middle of the one picture go. They are three pieces with the same profile with what lookslike wings at the end but I can't see where they would fit into the knife. The rest all makes sense, scary way to complicated for me sense but they make sense.

southern sub-hilt

Hello Stephen.. Sorry about that..... The three pieces you refer to don't belong to the Sub-hilt..... They are the Template and the starting liners of a large folding knife I was making..... All I can say is ooooops.....

Not a problem. You would not believe the fun I had trying to figure out where those pieces could go.
Thanks
Steve

Hi Lloyd,

I'm sorry , I have no idea who spilled any beans. I don't have access to profiles any more than you do. I understand your wishes and hope ED will edit his post.

Lloyd Hale/Gregg Allman Eye Candy

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just received the following photos of a knife that Lloyd Hale recently made for Gregg Allman of the "Allman Brothers Band".
Lloyd has been a knifemaker for many years & a master at pearl inlay work. I think he has made some truly incredible pieces over the years, as with this one. Check out the details!

It is Not for Sale. Thanks for viewing.

I wonder who this Gary Moore fellow is. Lets find out!

Lloyd i admire your work but name calling for a man in is 70's is unnecesary. As you can see the above post didn't mention anything about it being a secret.

Southern sub-hilt

You are right and I do apologize for flying off the handle before I knew all the facts.. I never told anyone not to say who the knife was made for and I did tell several people who it was for..... So, like I said , this mis-understanding falls squarely at my feet..... And at 70 yes I should have known better .....Lloyd

No apology needed Lloyd, i've done the same thing many times myself. I would like to state again how much i admire your work. I also realized i don't have many posts on this forum and never really introduced myself. I'm a 52 year old custom knife collector and i live near Shiloh,TN. I've been drawn to knives since i was a child. As i got older i read about makers such as yourself in American Blade magazine and attended my first Blade show in 1985 in knoxville,TN. I've been a regular at the Blade Show for several years now and plan to be there this year. I don't have many pictures of myself but here's one from 2005. I'm the one on the right.

Please post more pictures of your work when time allows. I assure you that it's much appreciated.

What a stunning knife. The level of talent, artistry and skill is truly amazing.

At 70 years young you're in your prime.

Cheers
