Norris damascus questions

I picked up a bar of Mike Norris' damascus at the Chicago show, but did not get heat treat or etching instructions. I was wondering since it is stainless material or a D2 based, is it an air quenched steel? Also for etching, I've heard using ferric will work. Am I gonna have to etch it and lightly sand like carbon damascus, or can I just etch and wax? Any insight apreciated.
Thanks all

It's probably more likely 19C27 based, there's sometimes some D2 in there (depends on the steel). Heat treat like 19C27. It's probably something along the lines of 1900 F oil quench with 350-400 F temper.

I'd recommend getting in touch with Mike and ask. It's not worth the time and effort (and possilbly ruining it) to guess about how to heat treat.
