New scalper...
Hey fellers, here's anew scalper I forged from an old tire iron that I got at a flea market. It has a elk tine handle and it just happened to be scarred up. Anyhoo, it is 11 1/4" OA, with a 7" blade. See what y'all think...Bud
Thanks for lookin |

Looks like a fine working knife, good belly and drop.I cant tell if it is glare from a flash or not ,but etching the blade would be nice if thats what the brightness is from.

Looks like a good-un Bud. Palm swell on the handle looks real comfortable, and in just the right place.

How good is the steel in a tire iron? I have a few at the farm and never thought of using them for a knive.

Thanks fellas, I'm not sure what the composition is. Have to guess at it being 5160 by the way it forges. All I know is had to get it pretty hot to work it for the first couple of heats, after that it wasn't to bad...Bud
