I'm with Rick Lowe on this one. I generally put a light coat of mineral oil on my 1080 blades before I tape them up. Have left them several weeks without finishing, with no trouble. This is using both blue painter's tape and regular old masking tape.

Hi Chris,
was a long time now unfortunately no longer here in the forum, the job was pretty stressed (IT-Admin).
So I think the knife wonderful, a wonderful job, it looks very balanced and harmonious. Simply fantastic.
I have almost done it again with a knife, just have to make a few subtleties then I send the pictures.

Hi Andi,
Good to hear from you again. Hope all is well in Bavaria. I have had a busy summer, too. Now that fall is in the air, and the garden slowly gets put "to bed" it's time to move inside to the warmth of a roaring forge. Time to make knives...
