Getting resin from desert ironwood off hands

Simple question. Any tips to get wood resin off of hands after sanding? It has quite an unpleasant smell and ive never had this much resin on ny hands after trying alcohol. I have tried dawn, fast orange and 95% isopropyl. Have many chemicals but not really wanting to use laquer thinner or similar on my skin.

If fast orange hasn't done it then turpentine or some other paint thinner is about it. Aside from that, if the wood has that much resin on it then I don't think I'd put it on a knife for a few years ....

Turpentine will be the most similar to the gum in the wood and is likely to be the best solvent. Also, it's not as hard on your hands as some lighter solvents. Failing that, try acetone.

Be careful with the acetone, it is easily adsorbed into the skin and goes straight to your kidneys/liver. Can be very permanently harmful. Might try WD40 in moderation.

Agree with Ray, that much resin seepage will be problematic. Needs to cure out longer and DI takes a while.

ps - next time wear rubber gloves when sanding any oily or exotic woods - none of the dust is good for your skin. You only have two hands, don't wreck them on knife handles.

Thanks for all of the replies. I tried everything but wd40 and could not get it off. I will definitely use gloves next go around.
