A couple of my latest
I haven't posted much around here lately but I've been lurking and admiring all of the amazing work you fellas are putting out. Here are a few of my latest knives I've finished.
It might be difficult to tell but the first one has lightly buffed flats and etched bevels. It was difficult to get good lighting on the flats and it looks discolored or uneven, but they're not. The darker area towards the front is my shadow in the metal. The second obviously has a hammered finish. Third is 52100 and micarta that I made. All three are hollow grinds and both sheaths were made by me as well. Last edited by BladePatriot; 05-24-2014 at 07:08 PM. |

ArmedArtist: Yes I did. Right now I'm working out of my garage but early next year I will transition from being an active duty Marine to a civilian, and I have a large brand new shop and home on my property in Tennessee.
Hunter10139: Thanks so much man!! |

What did you use to hammer it? Could you tell me a bit more about it?
I really like the look of the rough steel with a nice edge and handle. |

ArmedArtist; I just got the steel hot in my forge and hammered with a ball peen hammer. Made sure it was straight when I finished and then ground the bevels. Lightly hit the flats with the scotchbrite belt to expose the high points and keep the low points dark.

Thats cool! I really like the look. My friend is getting into Blacksmithing and has a little forge. I want to give that look a try someday.
