"Fun on the Beach"
The M42 (Duster) was a self-propelled AA gun, looked like a tank-it could fire 120 rounds a minute, so it took a lot of ammo to keep them fed. They would shoot at a long banner pulled by a
radio controlled small plane...of course, they always shot at the plane, but I figured they were entitled to their fun. As long as we did our job, they would never run out of ammo, and we took pride in that....We also drove fuel trucks to keep them supplied in addition to their ammo...they were dependent on us, and were among the few people who appreciated our efforts... __________________ I once complained about having no shoes, until I met a man who had no...guitar |
