Hey guys, got some elk tines from a fella on another forum and already put one to use. It has a 1084 blade and poured ferrule along with a nice piece of elk tip. I'm going to have the missus make a pigskin sheath for it.
The second, is my new maker mark. It's an ancient African symbol standing for "harmony". Being thats the town I res##e in, Ms. Tudy figgered it a fitting mark. Hope y'all like em both...Bud ![]() OA: 8 3/4" Blade: 4 3/8" mustard finish ![]() "HARMONY" |

The design of the knife and the maker's mark are both cool. But, if someone handed me the knife I would have no clue who made it. . .

Great lines! This looks like a very comfortable skinner.
I also like the new mark, but if name reccognition is what your after, cons##er adding your actual name somehow. I myself can't dec##e which way I want to go for a mark, I've tried several versions of my name and have been unhappy with all of them. It just seems a bit unartistic to splash block letters on a knife that flows like this one does. That only seems to work on knives with a square ricasso like Robert Dark's or Ed Caffrey's. I think this one works for your style. If people want to know who made it, they can chase you down. A little mystery can be fun (this is not good advise if your hobby depends on advertising). __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |

Thanks Andy, i'm not sure if I want the name or not. Thought about putting it under the mark in block letters, but, like you sa## they only work if you mark the ricasso. We'll think about it...Bud
