I would venture to say almost anyone here would make a special knife for you regardless of location.

There ought to be tons of makers in OK. The Tulsa show would be a good place to start looking for local guys. There is a knifemaker under almost every rock, just got to turn over the right one. Don't dispare just keep looking.
As far as "special knife", I think if you do the research you will find someone has been there and done that. Might not be exactly the same but will most likely be only an embellishment difference. I've been making knives for 50+ years and every "new and exciting" design has been eventually unearthed at a anthropoligical dig some primitive tooled artisian decided to make centuries ago. Knives are one of the first manufactored tools........followed hammers by just a few licks!
Hope you find someone close to help you out. Just keep looking, they are not going to come knock on your door.

Thanks Patrick, see you in a couple of weeks.

Hi all. I am new with the bug. I was wondering if there was anyone in the Raleigh/Durham NC area. I was looking to contact Mr. Folts but his website shows a FL location so think I lost out on that gem. Thanks in advance

Ken

Go to the NC GUild Forum site further down in the KNF. Bunch of fine knifemakers in that group and they seem to meet mostly up in your area. Just ask the same question there.

I need to dispose of all my knife making equipment

I have a Wilton square wheel grinder with all the stuff, a 3/4 small wheel for grinding finger holds in knives. A 3/4 horse baldor buffer.
A band saw buy Sears , Roebuck.
Other tools , etc. as I must get it our of my garage.
Would be a good start for someone serious in making knives.
It is all in good shape.

I found an unfinished bowie blade and guard.

[COLOR="black"][/COLOR
In going thruough my equipment I came across a bowie blade that has been ground and has a nickol silver guard soldered and pinned to it. Heat treated of coarse.
It needs someone to put a handle on it and finish it. It is a big one made of 440 stainless.
Maybe]some newbie on here is intersted in it.
It is the only blade that I have found.
I would like to get at least what I have in it for material out of it.
