Buffer safety
Here is a good article on 'buffer' safety. The buffer is the most dangerous machine in the shop if used incorrectly.
http://www.ganoksin.com/gnkurl/ep7zb2 ...Teddy PS It also applies to buffers. Last edited by smithy; 12-02-2013 at 06:09 AM. |

Thanks for sharing Ted.
Always good to get a reminder. All machines in the knifemakers' shop are dangerous if used incorrectly or without caution. Buffer being one of the meanest. We tend to get comfortable and complacent with repetitive use of any of them....that's when it gets most dangerous. WEAR YOUR SAFETY GLASSES! Mine go on right after the lights. __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 6-H |
