002 balisong
Heres my second knife!
Blade is 440c,1/8" thick and 4" in length. .75 304 SS liners black g-10 overlays ats-34 spacers, hardened It also has PB bushings and washers.i'm really digging the zen pin design,so i'm going to play with it a little more! this was supposed to be a marlowe style weehawk, but i quickly realized Charles is the man and i.......am NOT. so i just ground it and this is what i got.i originally did a full hand rubbed finish, but was'nt happy with it so i left the bevel's hand rubbed and did the flats the same way as the last..,kind of a funky satin machine finish. |

I don't know how I missed #2. Both look first rate!!
Excellent, pro-looking construction! I especially like the grinds. Do you have a pic of #3 opened up? I assume the "nip" on the back end of the tang is meant to be functional... A form of "skull crusher" when the handles are closed? A couple of very nicely done bali's! Dennis Greenbaum |

Thanks fella's!
Dennis: the "nip" on the end of tang is where the stop pin's contact,to hold knife in the open pisition and prevent handles from touching.i'm sticking with non tang pin construction for a while..,i find it has a nice clean look to it!i would like to get more creative with the shape of the "nip",but i found this is the best way to ensure comfort and completly avoid any pinch. heres the knife in open and cosed position's: I'll try to get photo's of the inner construction if you'd like to see??i'll get (wip) shots on the next one. and yes,my photo's are bad |

Are you still using a Suremak? Last edited by Daniel J; 01-12-2008 at 03:12 PM. Reason: GG reading comprehension... |
