Odd Spacer colors?
Okay, so we have what appears to be a 50's era Model 3-7" blade with a pinned finger grip stag handle, combined with a early/mid 70's vintage sheath. But the grey outer spacers are odd to me. And that particular Randall stamp doesn't add much help for me. Any comments?

Total re-handle including spacers and stag piece.

I'm in total agreement with ya! I believe the actual blade and scabbard belong together, but the seller is being deceptive about the rest of it......

Ron is the bomb, especially with model 3s. To me, The blade is probably 70s too and as Bill said, probably is contemporaneous with sheath. Nothing "1950s" about this package in my opinion except the pin. The purposeful installation of that pin implies a conscious attempt to con the unwary. Also, someone spent considerable time works ng on this.

12-6 with odd spacers
There's a 12-6 on Ebay with what appear to be black & white spacers - not a modern one by any means but was this ever a viable combination?

Are you talking about the Tom Leschorn knife? Black and White spacers were his trademark.

There are a number of things wrong with this knife:
Bo was a patriot: His normal spacer set was red-white-blue from the outside in. Note that the blue spacer turned black after burnishing. This spacer set doesn't even come close. Bill is correct: Black and white were Tom's favorite spacer set. Bo never used glue or epoxy to set his pins. They were all "press fit". From the 40's through the 70's, the first groove in the handle for the index finger did not "flow" into guard curvature: There was a gap to include the spacers. This knife has the index finger resting against the guard. The shop always chamfered the periphery of the butt on all stag handles. On this one you'll see that it's a straight cut with a sharp 90 degree angle. Ron |

That is a very good question! It doesn't seem to be signed, which most of his work was. I'm thinking that it's a "KIT" knife without the "KIT" that was assembled by somebody other than Tom. It's just not nice enough the make that claim.

The spacers are blue and white, which was an option in the 80's...HOWEVER, I would be more concerned with that "minty" sheath...

So blue and white spacers were an option in the 80's......with a red center and grey outer spacers? And pinned stag?
I'm sorry, but I'm not buying that story. Would love to see another one, maybe a receipt or butcher paper stating these options? Do you recall building this one? |

Buy the knife then...believe what you want...check the spacers in the late 80's on the 25's before they were changed to aluminum...why so confrontational?...do u think I would steer you wrong for some reason?

lol..... I'm not confrontational....... You didn't mention that you were talking about a different knife than I began the post about. What are your thoughts on that?
