Ok, not Knife related.
Hi guy's I have a question for the pack. I want to build a .58 cal. black powder double rifle. I would like to do the locks , fittings and hammers in ladder pattern Damascus . Will these parts in 1080/15N20 hold up or do they need to be hardened? If so at what RC. I know some of you guy's shoot BP. Help a brother out.

I would highly recommend contacting Steve Culver, a Master Bladesmith with the ABS and also a Master Gunsmith. He just recently made a blackpowder damascus barreled and locked pistol/ knife combo called a CutnShoot. See this stuff on his website.

I talked with him at Blade. Really neat stuff. I'm not doing Damascus barrels just the locks and fittings. I don't see any reason it won't work. Just covering my bases.
