I finished a few this week

Got some finished this week. One is made for a neighbor, the other two just prototypes.

This one is in 1084 steel. Modified the blade shape somewhat from the original.

A 1095 Skinner with Walnut scales

larger design made in 1084 for a neighbor to field test. (He does tree work and supplied the wood for the scales)

I'm learning a lot. A full flat grind is easiest grind to do on a 1 x 30, for me anyway, and get a nice look. Still difficult keeping heat down and getting a nice straight ricasso. Invariably I get almost there then jump across the ricasso with the belt causing bad words to venture forth from my mouth! I'm a stickler for small details and those little boo-boos really chap me. But I'm overall pleased with these as I'm still in the "less than 10 knives made" mode of this new endeavor.
