stonewash finish
How is it done?
It looks liked a tumbled finish. If it is, what is the media used and can it be done in a home shop? John __________________ member, Australian Knifemakers Guild |

John,
Many years ago, I worked for a time in a factory where they deburred castings by tumbling them in a machine with something similar to a "soft" river rock, if that makes sense. It was a large open tub with stones in it that were moved by some kind of agitator. I would imagine it could be done on a smaller scale by using a tumbling device similar to what production bullet reloaders use to clean brass cases by changing the cleaning medium. Just an idea. Hope it gets you started in the right direction. Carey __________________ Everything you do says something about who and what you are so ALWAYS sign your work with excellence.
