The All-American Lockback Folder Kit

I see that knife kits is out of stock on the All-American Lockback Folder Kits. Can anyone tell me if they will be back in stock soon. I wanted to order a few for x-mass gifts. It's a nice knife and fun to make.

Thanks,

Whiskers

i tried to order some recently and was told they are making improved changes to them, like a stainless liner instead of brass. Was told they would be back in stock soon.

Stainless liners, bolsters and pins!! Also with an improved lockbar fit!

They won't be ready for release until the first of next year!!! The big news upcoming is the Lone Star Lockback!!! Check it out ... it's great!!!

I am glad they lost the brass liners. You can get a real nice lustre, but it tarnishes quickly. Forget about the insides...

I wonder wny they went with brass pins on the LoneStar? I will be swapping those for some stainless pinstock as well. I have two on pre-order.

What size are the pins in the LoneStar? I am assuming around 3/32".

I have had no problem with the brass tarnishing or any of that. Even the insides seem to hold up quite well. I was hoping they would have it available in both versions, brass and stainless.

Unfortunately we are discontinuing the brass liners on that model.

We're going to try a new twist with the Lone Star's, in the way the handles are assembled. I should have some parts images later this week to give you guys a peek at our new process.

suppose we could always just cut the stainless liner off toss it into the corner and put a brass one on. Also been toying with the idea of using a gold liner and sterling bolster.

Save your scrap and filings. It is bound to be a pricey knife.

Alex,

I hope you are going to tell us the bolsters come separate from the liner. We can then dovetail the assembly.

Either that, or you have found a way to make them integral to the liner.

Mike

yes it's going to be a very pricy project just for the gold by itself, was looking at doing a gold ring just on the edges and brass for the rest.
