Greetings. New Member -Big Question

Greetings. I just joined today. I found this forum through Google.

I recently was given my father's entire collection of knives. They need to be sold. He is 81 and not doing too well and needs to sell-off some of his possessions. I figured this would be a good place to start. As much as I'd like to keep them, I can't.

I just brought 5 fairly large boxes into my home & I'm just about to go through them. I believe some have receipts & I know almost all, if not all, have never been out of their boxes.

These aren't cheap knives, I know that much. My father's taste outweighed his bank account at times. With that said, I'm looking for some guidance. I'm not a kid. I'm a 43 year-old professional. I am member in excellent standing, on other types of forums.

I live North of Boston in a small sea coast town called Ipswich.

I will go through the boxes and start listing the names of the companies. I know many of them have beautiful handles made of things like elk horn and other beautiful things of that nature. He's given me some over the years as birthday and Christmas gifts.

Thank you for reading this and please feel free to give me any advice.

Thank you,
Derek B. Cooper
