Making the handle and finishing a fixed blade knife kit

We will be making the handle and finishing a Maverick hunter kit

Don Robinson, the instructor for this class, will lead you through all the steps needed to mount the front bolsters, make your own handle scales from materials of your choosing, and finish the knife. You may use handle scale material you have on hand or order scale material from Knifekits.com. or other knifemaker's suppliers.

Minimum required equipment:

Drill press, coping saw, bench vise, assorted twist drills, countersink bit, files, sandpaper, 2-ton epoxy, handle scale material at least 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 5" (2 pieces) or a block big enough for both scales.

Suggested equipment:

Belt grinder, band saw, bench or stand mounted buffer, handle scale finishing materials suited to the kind of handle scale material.

Duration of course is 30 days.
