What 36 or 40 grit belts?
Norton's latest is the 990S RazorStar Ceramic 36G, any of you used it? Suggestions for comparable ones?
I like the VSM 885's in 50G for bevels though for rough profiling something a bit coarser might be nice. __________________ Mike ![]() ![]() |

I liked the VSM belts also but rarely used anything coarser than 60. Just easier to get a clean finish if I stayed away from coarser belts . . .

I felt same until talking with a maker about his grit progression. I've been using the 50-60 grit all this time. I'm reluctant to do bevels with a 36 and even 40 left deep scratches to clean up. Had me pondering if there may be a time savings to using that coarse of a belt.
