Family Reunions and Smart-Phones

After 28 yrs, I no longer go to the wife's family reunion. I got burnt out trying to talk to people
while their attention was centered on their cellphone.I learned who to avoid, or I would have to
look at an endless stream of pictures of people I didn't know..."Oh look, here;s Aunt Effie doin'
the dirty boogie with Uncle Clyde"...You're killing me here,lady...
We tried to discourage it last year, everyone agreed to leave their phones in the car.The withdrawl symptoms became too painful to witness.Honestly, I've seen meth-heads needing
a hit that had better control....nervous twitching ,unconsciously reaching into an empty pocket,
sweating ,glazed over eyes, drooling, etc. In the middle of a conversation they would jump up
exclaiming"excuse me, I have to get something out of the car". They would return, calm and relaxed. Sound familiar?
I'm prob the only one on the planet who doesn't tweet, text, twit or "do" phone
doesn't start the car, wash dishes, or cook just talks and listens when I do....YMMV

I once complained about having no shoes,
until I met a man who had no...guitar

My family tries to have a reunion every 30 years or so. That's about enough time to forget why we don't do family reunions more often.

God bless Texas! Now let's secede!!
