New Terry Guinn pair

And what a pair!!



This is the second only balifork I know of! Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong. :cool:

All thanks to Terry Guinn for being such a pleasure working with. This project wrapped much sooner than I thought. Man, I thought making a fork would be somewhat of a challenge, but... He even curved it nicely!



Some specs:
They both feature:

• Antique White Micarta overlays
• Guinn Magnetic Latch design
• Guinn Non-pin design
• Stainless Steel handles
• But not a meal, unfortunatly.

It's only the second one I'm aware off. But it's the first one that's a true bali-fork.... Mine had the edge built in.

Looking good. 3 very unique bali's in a month. Not bad.

Doesn't that make it difficult to eat? Have you ever tried? (Huh, I bet you eat with it all the time, don't you! )

Took a little practise, and I do need another fork sometimes, but I find it easier to eat the steak with the same hand i use to cut it. Kinda helps to have another set of tines.

Have you taken them for a Test-Meal yet Tor? I've never tried one of Terry's magnetic models..., only the prototype that Vance had from BM. Can you use the little hunk of protuding quillon (horn) to flick them open..., or is the magnet to strong for that?

Tony is much braver than I am.., I know I'd forget about the sharpened edge on his and do some serious damage!

Those are really great.., and they also look very well made. My list of "wants" is about 3 years salary ahead of my "can haves" already.......arrrrrrrrrgh!

AFAIK, Terry hasn't had the time to ship them off yet. Hopefully they'll be on their way this week, though. And when they get here, I promise you they'll be taken for a test meal!

I have no idea how strong those magnets really are, but from what Terry has said, they're pretty darn strong. He told me the domed pins really helped separating the handles, since they gave you a lot more to grip on than his earlier magnetic models. So if they are as strong as he has expressed, I doubt you'll be able to flick them open like that... I'll let you know what they're like when I get them.

I know your frustration, man, I feel the same way. I suppose it's about prioritizing... There's a difference between something you'd like to have, and something you really BURN for.
