Need Seattle Knife Instructor

I've been taking classes at Pratt Fine Arts in Seattle for forging, grinding, etc...

I've also been bringing in information about knives, forge welding, damascus, pattern welded blades, etc... Whenever I bring in a knife, I'll end up with a large crowd of people around me asking questions and bemoaning the fact that there is no one on the faculty with experience in knife making.

Would anyone be interested in doing a demo, giving a guest lecture, or teaching a class in knife making in Seattle? Daniel O'Malley at BladeGallery.com has offered to help me with my forging, but I don't think he has the bandwidth for more than 2 or 3 people.

What does Pratt Fine Arts teach?

Are they showing blacksmithing skills such as repousse and other decorative ironwork?

Are you looking for a demo on forging knives, making damascus or a demo on knifemaking?

I am not clear on what you are asking this demo to include.

Are you looking for a local person to hold a class or a guest demonstrator to come there and give a class at Pratt?

Pratt Fine Arts is located in Seattle's Central District. They offer classes and workshops, and also provide studio rental space. There are classes in forging, welding, jewelry making, glass blowing, sculpture, bronze casting, and print making.

Specifically as to repousse, I haven't seen anyone doing it. Most of what I have seen for ironwork has either been sculptural or architectural.

I'd think there are two distinct groups that want training. The first is a larger group of less experienced people who'd want an "introduction to knife making" workshop. The instructors themselves would be interested in a forge welding and damascus class.

I'm flexible as far as where the person is coming from. Obviously having someone local would be better in the long run, but to get the ball rolling we'd fly someone in for weekend workshops.
