Curtis, good luck at the show. And have fun with the other makers. Wish I had enough knives to get a table at a show, but I don't.

Okay, I said that I would get some pics of my WIP. I hope this shows up.
Two sets of liners, one with and one without bolsters. I used a 3/8 end mill for the relief.http://pic60.picturetrail.com/VOL166.../370245568.jpg __________________ |

Nice work, Joe, but I wouldn't have drilled the 3rd. hole in the liners and spring until last. That's the way I put the tension on the spring.

Old habbits die hard. I will have to try leaving the 3rd hole for last. I do the same thing except on the 2nd hole. The next pics will be on the nail nick. I decided to try using an end mill and tilting my vise. I did not like the size of that so moves the table a bit to get a longer nick. will get some pics later this afternoon.

Ahhhh!! There is nothing like getting away to get you back on track. The only thing wrong with the mountains is all the tourists. (lol) Anyway wip of milling the nail nick. I have tried using a flycutter but that does not give me as smooth as a finish as I would like. What I really like using is a dovetail cutter, it works really well. This time I used an end mill like was mentioned in one of the previous post. I used a 3/8 mill and then moved the table to get a longer cut. I wonder what it will look like when i get the hollow grind done.

Keep going, Joe. Looks like everyone else has finished or fallen by the wayside.
Very nice photos, by the way. Thanks. |

Sorry about the delay, I finally finished the Ladder Pattern Damascus Toothpick. Unfortunately the Mammoth tooth that I had planned to use for it was not properly stablized as it should have been,it broke in mutilpe places during cutting. From now on I will do it myself, that way I will make sure that it is OK.
Ladder pattern high carbon Damascus for the Blade, Spring, and Bolsters, with Wild Olive Wood for handle scales. Overall length is 7 3/16", Blade length is 3 1/16", Closed length is 4 1/8". Blade is flat ground. Putting in the shield was fun, HA HA. Did this one by hand. Hope that you like it, or at least some one likes it besides me.
