Forge

I use two dragon breath forges made from 10" pipe in my shop. One is used for normal forging, stays clean, and never has any flux put into it. The other is used for welding only, is never cleaned, just keep throwing in a little more cat litter once in a while to keep up with the flux pool in the bottom. Works for me.

Cat litter works great. I had it in the last forge. The most recent one I built.......I placed a small plastic cup in the bottom to create a hole. This seems to work better, as I never really have to clean anything out, just every now and then I pick up a couple of handfuls of cooled/hard flux and trash it.

You may also want to try using "oil sorb" it's available at most auto parts stores and it's a lot cheaper than kitty litter. It's basically kitty litter without any perfume.
