'modified' gx-6 folder (in progress)

This is an 'in production' folder and not finished at this time.

Here we have a standard GX-6 folder. first one I have worked with to. So far my impressions is good with the liners but I dislike the small parts (screws, ss parts, washers).

this is basket weave mosaic damascus by Doug Ponzio.

base drill holes for the screws and cut oversized. No counter-sinking or pivot pin hole.

Here it is next to the stock bolsters.

Next up is order some drill bits for the 2 holes I have left then cut the damascus billet into a blade.

Nice chunk of damascus there. I'm looking forward to seeing this one come together. Thanks for posting your progress.

Problem is not so much who is going to make the blade but what pattern will match the bolsters. So far all the patterns I have looked at does not match.

This was 2 potentials but neither fits the bill. May just have to get a long section of the basket weave and use that for the blade.

Actually I have not done much else on this one. I have had some nasty things going on and I had to put things on hold for the time being (some type of infection in my fingers and a death in the family) I am just starting back into things and it will be some time before things will be back to normal. Be patient as I will be posting more on this one.
