DDR2 Tanto

Just finished this one for my son's birthday. It was a great kit and went to together real nice. I switched out the teflon washers for the phos bronze ones. No file work, nothing special......great little knife though. I'm looking forward to doing some more of these.

I'll post some photos of the DDR2 alongside the DDR3-BL. I was somewhat surprised at the size difference of these two knives when I got the DDR2 in hand. The DDR2 is a great size for an EDC.

The DDR3-BL is one I have posted pics of before, but I've disassembled it since and reworked the CF scales and button lock.......

Thanks for looking,
Mike

Mike:

Nice job on both the DDR2 and DDR3BL. I love the size of the DDR2, its just the right size for a EDC as you stated. I knew the the DDR3BL was big, but wow when you see it next to the DDR2 it is a real monster. If I was handy enough I would love to convert a DDR2 into a button lock auto or assisted opening with a back spring. Thanks for showing both knives.

Whiskers,

Thanks for the comments. The DDR2 is a nice size. I'm going to have to order another for myself, the one in the pic went to my son. I guess we're all waiting "patiently" for the release of the DDR2.5-BL.....

Mike,

Nice work. Which kit did you enjoy the most? I am surprised as well to see teh difference in size between the DDR3 and the DDR2. I am looking at the DDR2 to be the next kit I buy.

Hi Joe,
I enjoyed both kits. The DDR3-BL is definitely more work, and takes more time, but still a blast. I think you'll enjoy the DDR2 a lot, and no peening either........

Joe, No backspine on the DDR2. I let my son pick out the kit, scales, blade, then assembled it for him for his B-Day. He chose not to have the spine. Easier to blow the pocket lint out without a spine installed.... .....

You aren't the only one.

Mike - what scales do you have on both of them?

Hi...Some1New......the scales on the DDR3-BL are carbon fiber, and the DDR2 has black G-10.

Thanks for looking,
Mike
