All right, I'm tired of waiting.

Several of you guys owe me some photos of your WIP and finished knives.

Consider yourselves reprimanded. It's a good thing you're not in my platoon. I'd have you cleaning the latrine with toothbrushes!

Yeah, Victor, hurry up.

James, that's great. Please let us watch your WIP when you get started.

I've just gotten started on a button lock. I revised my design some and am building a prototype to be sure it works as it should..

Sorry Don been trying to get several finished all at once taking them all insteps togather. Marked the liners for 5 folders today will cut the relief tomorrow, and spot-weld the bolsters.

I hadn't even thought of a WIP for the button lock, but we could if there is any interest. If we do I'll need to take photos of the work I've started before proceeding.

Let me get the first prototype done and we'll see if there is interest. I have the blade roughed out for the second one now.

My button lock design is unique. It uses a leaf spring instead of a torsion spring around the pivot. I hate the common ones that open with such a shock you can hear it a block away. And cause you to drop it.

This one opens silently with only a slight click like a linerlock when you open it.

My knife can also be opened by hand, so if you're at church it won't frighten the sheeple away.

I'm in a lot of pain now and it makes it impossible to work more than a couple of hours a day unless I can work sitting at my bench, so I'm hesitant about starting another thread, but some of you know I can't resist a challenge.

So, if you wanna, say so loudly!

By the way, my button lock design doesn't require anything special to build it. A milling machine isn't necessary.

If you have the tools to build a slipjoint you can also build the button lock.

That is, if you have a metal lathe to make the button. Or a friend who will do that for you.

James, I'm hesitant about starting a new button lock WIP for several reasons.

1. I don't want to interfere with Papi's automatic thread right now.

2. My health

3. I think I may want to use the WIP in a new book on building button lock folders. That's a lot of work, but I may as well earn a few dollars with a new book instead of giving it away.

Keep on keepin' on with your slipjoints for awhile. You're doin' good. And be sure to show us your work.

That's good news, Mike. I was afraid everybody else had lost interest.

Not me just that dang hay takes priority over everything especially when we are already 6 weeks behind on the cut due to weather.
