I would like to add my thanks for these tutorials as well. I enjoy them, and always learn a lot. I know it's time consuming to take the pictures and post them. Thank you Montejano!!

Thanks to you friends. I don't seek to give classes to the other friends, single desire to show a small realized process to my way and style. I have suppressed many pictures of the process, because they were too many pictures; I have tried to show the most interesting and I have suppressed pictures of processes that I have already shown previously in other posts.

Thanks to all

Montejano

Super nice work Monte. Can you tell us how you made the metal end piece (pommel)? This knife is really starting to flow together now!

Thank you friends.

Roberto
You ask me like I carried out the small German nickel piece. It is very simple; I possess a professional lathe of small size, but with the benefits of a big lathe. I learned how to lathe during 5 years in a self taught way and I made my best works.
To carry out this piece takes a long time some minutes in to lathe and to work later with jeweler's file.
I send them a picture of my best work (I took months in making it and I showed it a while ago) you can appreciate after carrying out this knife, the because I say that is simple to make this small piece with a lathe.

Thank you to follow the tutorial

Montejano,

Your work is a source of amazement, and inspiration. Thank you for taking the time and effort to post these step by step photos, and explaine how you do the steps.

What type of carving tool are you using to relife carve the horn? Is it a dremel? And are you undercutting the relife with the carving tool?

I cannot wait to see the finished product!!!

God Bless

Mike

Mike and Jeremy, thank you friends for their words.
Mike
To carve the ivory I use the Dremel, to reduce the bottom of the one carved and with small burins in different ways the fine finish ;
then, the shady one with very fine lines, I use a very fine tip coupled to the rotal?n Dremel.

Thank you friends.

Horacio
Before it always showed my comments in first English for respect to the language of the forum and in Spanish, for if some friend didn't understand the translation well, to be able to try to read Spanish (with the help of somebody or to know the language) but I will try to show another time both languages.

A hug to all.

Montejano

Gracias amigos .

Horacio

Montejano

The leaf of the knife shows it it finishes whetting, because I understand that to show to make a leaf, it is not complicated and I center myself more in showing the ornamentation, due to the quantity so big of pictures.
---------------------

To the guard of the knife I will make him some engravings, but I don't show the process, because in the posts previous of other tutorials I have already shown it.
----------------------

Drawing the leaf of the knife to make him a beautiful engraving as in the XIX century

Was the relife work on the guard etched with acid? or was it engraved with a graver?
I noticed that the blade is covered with a resist, Im assuming that it will be etched. Could you share what your resist is made from? And what type of acid you use?

Look forward to seeinh this all completed!! Your talent is amazing!!

Thank you for sharing this with us!!

God Bless
Mike
