First, welcome to our forum. Second, fill out your profile so we know who you are and where you are - that's how you'll find someone in your area.

As for kit blades, every knife supply house sells them and most are USA made. Some of the suppliers are Sheffields, K&G Finishing, Jantz, and knifekits.com Get some knife magazines from your local mall book store, cutlery store, or gun shop and check the ads in Blade magazine or Knives Illustrated and you'll find all kinds of knife supplies being advertised. Get catalogs from as many as possible, they can answer all your questions about what tools you need (because they sell what we use) and even have tutorials on how to use many of the supplies as well as information on how to assemble kit knives.

The Search key at the top of the page can lead you to answers to most of the common newbie questions. Those same knife supply places sell a wide array of books and CDs covering just about any type of knife making process. And finally, once you've dug into the subject a little more and know more specifically what you want to accomplish there are lots of guys here who can throw a dozen different conflicting answers to any question you have after you've gotten into it ...
