An update on what's going on with me (medically)

I had the daylights scared out of me today! I'm scheduled to go back to the Oncologist about the spots on my lungs on the 11th. Today I got a phone call from the Suregon's office (the same one who worked on my last time) saying "this is urgent, please call us back, and come in today at 1:30pm!"

I lost it....scared silly that it was the end of me. We got there and the Doc had been called away on an emergency surgery. They told me to come back around 3:15pm. I learned that all the stuff that's been going on for the past couple of months has given me an ulcer.

The Doc finally got back to his office and took me right in. He calmed me down and told me that he suspects this one will turn out like the last time, HOWEVER, it's not something be to be "taking chances" with. He scheduled me for biopsy surgery on May 29th at 7:30am. He says that I'll be in the hospital overnight, and since they are doing it with the "scope", I'll be fully recovered within two weeks. He also said the following: This is like weeds in a yard...the sooner we take care of it, the more likely we will be successful, but if we let it go, it could take over. He also told me that IF this turns out to be cancerous, it was found soon enough that Chemo or any other treatments will be minimal.

So, all that being said, I'm once again asking for your prayers. Now if I could just find some of the Mylanta II that he told me to take for the ulcer, I might get to feeling a bit better.

Ed you and your family have been tested to the max for sure.... But the good news is that they caught it in time and the odds are stacked in your favor! I know it is hard to keep a positive attitude, but I am certain that it helps in the long run. After all the bad luck you are for certain due for some great luck in the future! Heck I would go buy a lottery ticket as the odds have to be in your favor! Will pray for you and your family and I am sure everything is going to turn out great for you!

You and your family are sure going through the wringer lately. You have all the good thoughts and prayers that I can send your way. Take it one day at a time and just do the next right thing as it comes to you.

Doug

You know you're in our thoughts and prayers. As for the ulcer, you need to work on mellowing down and let things happen. I refer you to Matthew 6:25-34.
